A fantastic new smoothie recipe as featured in Get Fresh magazine. By Bella Wilmink of Inspiral Lounge.

Serves 4 (makes 1 litre)

The ingredients in this recipe are selected for their high calcium and/or magnesium content, with macadamias added for extra creaminess. This white milk is a perfect replacement for ordinary milks, on raw granola for example. It’s boosted with the super fruit baobab, which contains more calcium than cow’s milk.

  • 30g raw almonds, pre-soaked
  • 20g Brazil nuts, pre-soaked
  • 20g sesame seeds, pre-soaked
  • 30g macadamia nuts, pre-soaked
  • 50g dried figs (optional for sweetness)
  • 5g baobab powder
  • scraped seeds from half a vanilla pod
  • 1 litre purified water (we only ever use alkalized and ionized, Reverse Osmosis filtered water)
  1. Combine the soaked nuts and seeds with the water in a blender and process.
  2. Add in the baobab powder, figs and vanilla seeds, then re-blend until smooth.
  3. For this milk, I find it is not necessary to strain, resulting in a more nutritious “whole” milk.

This drink may be refrigerated but is best served fresh the same day.

Inspiral Lounge can be found at 250 Camden High St, London NW1 and you can be assured that they use our baobab.
