Fairtrade fortnight bake off: enter now!

Hurrah! Fairtrade fortnight kicked off on 23 February with loads of inspiring special offers, competitions and activities to get everyone excited about fair trade. How about entering the fair trade bake off, using some of our delicious fair trade baobab products? All you have to do is upload a snap of your creation and you could win a hamper of fair trade goodies, or a day’s baking with cupcake queen Lilly Vanilli.  Check out our recipe section for some mouth-watering recipe ideas  – anyone for  rich chocolate baobab brownies, indulgent baobab victoria sponge cake or spicy baobab and pear muffins?  Or come up with your own creation to wow the judges. In the midst of the Health Ingredients Europe show in Madrid, Rosie Abdy Collins – our Baobab guru, found Martin Bauer launching an exciting new Baobab drink. Everyone seemed fascinated by the traditional African stories of this wonderful tree and it’s amazing properties. Look out for our new products section coming soon, where we will be showcasing many of the new Baobab products that are sustainably sourced by our partners.

Baobab named as one of the five great flavours for 2011

The market research group Innova lists Baobab in the top 5 new flavours for 2011, alongside rhubarb, vindaloo, chai and coffee berry. They say Baobab has ‘a tart, zesty taste and its flavour is somewhere between grapefruit and tamarind’. Go Baobab!
