Aneesh Popat The Chocolatier takes baobab challenge

Renowned London based chocolate alchemist, and chocolatier to royalty, Michelin starred restaurants and luxury hotels, Aneesh Popat took the baobab challenge at the Eden project today. Making a delicious concoction of chocolate, baobab banana and spin sugar, Popat wowed audiences and tickled their tastebuds. With unusual combinations such as baobab and raspberry, and baobab and praline Popat took the challenge head on.

I just think if nature gives you something really nutritious like baobab to eat, if course it’s going to taste delicious

A great time at eden

IMG-20131009-WA0002“I’m having a great time at eden” says Rosby Mthinda, Malawian baobab producer and PhytoTrade Africa member.

“I’ve met lots of visitors and told them all about our African baobab fruit. I’ve tried lots of new foods with baobab like ice cream, chocolate, jam, cake and even a smoothie!

“I’m going back to Malawi and tell all my friends and colleagues at Tree Crops about the amazing things that the eden project is doing to bring new products to the market here.”

  1. Fight against slash and burn deforestation by giving an economic value to the baobab fruit.
  2. Bring to the world the health benefits of the baobab superfruit from Madagascar.
  3. Create supplementary income for forest communities.

We need your help to finance the first roll-out and shape it into a sustainable initiative to save the forest of baobabs, fight malnutrition and improve the income of thousands of rural families.
